C. H. Marker is a family owned and operated business headed by the retired Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance turned Capital Improvement Project Inspector for the water and waste-water division of a local municipality. C.H. Marker started as a home-based business in September of 2006, and is owned and operated by Charles “Skeeter” Marker and his wife Linda. They began C. H. Marker believing that they could help families and business owners keep money in their wallets by teaching them how preventive maintenance can turn into energy savings. Additionally, they wanted to make sure for those clients in need of a/c or refrigeration repair could afford them by providing cost-effective service plans as well as time and material estimates for the instances in which repairs would more or less than the service packages offered.

Like many young couples, money was tight for us. As our family grew, the size of our house grew. But, our budget never seemed to grow at the same pace. If a home repair emergency arose, we always managed to pay for those emergency repairs. But, never did we have the money to pay for preventive maintenance. It wasn’t until our kids grew up and moved out that we began preventive maintenance practices around the house. By beginning these practices, we found that it was saving us money.

 

Hind sight is 20/20. If we had known then what we know now, we would have had more money for family fun by budgeting for preventive maintenance practices throughout the years instead of nervously waiting for something to breakdown hoping we would be able to scrape up enough cash to pay for an overcharged repair.

 

This realization is part of why  C. H. Marker  exists. We want our clients to know that they can afford to have their home equipment evaluated and have the all too important annual tune-up done on their home's air conditioning. We want them to know that they can afford to have their equipment repaired if needed. We want them to know that preventive maintenance practices will put money back into their wallets. With this knowledge, clients will gain peace-of-mind which will allow them to focus on more important things like family or making a success of their own business.
